And now it goes on with another tour.
This time I visit the Paschenburg, Schaumburg, the cliff tower and the Idaturm.
Since the day is pretty short, I have to hurry. The route is also strenuous. Especially in front of the cliff and Ida tower. I had hard times there! On that day I also covered 23,000 kilometers on my speedometer. Not bad. Here I cover the tour briefly. You can read more on my website.First I visited Paschenburg Castle. I've never been there. It was foggy, but in good weather the view from above should be very nice. The observation tower is always open and free of charge. It is not high, but it is enough. It was also quite foggy.I went on to Schaumburg. There you can go up the Georgsturm for 50 cents. I also think the look is very good.Next I visited the cliff tower. My GPS took me to the forest and I suffered. The normal route is also strenuous. It's good that you can take a good break next to the tower and eat something in the restaurant. The day before I phoned the owner to ask if it was possible to go up on the tower. He was happy to give me the key. The fog was gone and I could enjoy the great view. Really great!Shortly before the sun set I was on my way to Idaturm. Back in the forest, because of the GPS ... Suffered a lot again, but I made it. The tower is currently closed. Nevertheless, you can book an appointment at Schloss Bückeburg by telephone. I tried, but it was unsuccessful. That's why I could only see the tower from outside. That was okay because I was up there earlier. At the end of the long night trip came to Hanover. A total of 140 kilometers. Super great and I felt very good. I think all of these towers are great and I would visit them again. The surroundings are nice too.More to come soon!More about the tour: destination-valhalla.com/der-turmjagd-teil-6-und-23-k

Tour number 5 is coming today. This time in the direction of Bissendorfer Moor. Usually I wanted to go to Bergen and do a longer tour, but I gave up on that idea.I like to visit the moor and there are also two observation towers there. You just have to watch how much water there is on the bog, because sometimes the paths are almost impassable. In about an hour I was next to the north tower. The track in the moor is not wet. There was a little mud here and there. I took photos on the tower. Having binoculars is also a good idea. Then I drove to the south tower again over the moor next to a small water channel. I think the track is very good. When I got to the tower, I found that it was being renovated. Super-duper! The view from above is very nice and you can see a large part of the moor. I also took pictures here and then went home.More about the tour: destination-valhalla.com/der-turmjagd-teil-5-nach-bissendorfer-moorMore about my activities: destination-valhalla.com

Today there is a little tour in the direction of Gehrden. I wanted to visit the Burgberg Tower there. It should be open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Small time window, but enough. I've visited the square several times, but I've never been to the tower. Now it finally worked.Although it was very windy, I reached my destination in about an hour. The last few hundred meters are inclined. There were a couple of people next to the tower. More arrived later.Entry is free, but you can make a small donation if you want. The interior design surprised me very positively. I took a lot of pictures. You can read a lot about the observation tower. The view from above is also very nice. I used to think there wasn't much to see. There are two small garden benches. It's fine with a cup of warm coffee because it was very windy upstairs. It is worth visiting the place. Just watch out for the opening times. During this time of year every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.More about the tour: destination-valhalla.com/der-turmjagd-teil-4-der-burgbergturm

Today came the tower hunt part 3. This time in the direction of Hildesheim. There I wanted to visit the following places:1. Hildesheim observation tower
      2. Tosmar Tower (summit cross on the Tosmarberg) - no longer stands
      3. Sibbesse telecommunications tower - not a lookout tower
      4. Friedrich Kabus Tower
      5. Mayor Adolf Stoffregen Tower
      6. Public observatory "Yellow Tower" - former observation tower
      7. Bismarck Tower Hildesheim
The tour was very exhausting. Up to the Hildesheim Tower, the route via Neuhof was fine. Next to the tower there is a forest restaurant where you can pick up the key for 2 euros (there used to be a voluntary donation). The view is nice from above, but it was windy. Then I drove on to the summit cross on the Tosmarberg. The word is exhausting. Wet, slippery leaves and fallen trees on the way. I fell off my bike once but ... it wasn't a good experience. The brakes were at their limit again because the track is sloping. I think the view is very beautiful at the summit. You can take a good break on the garden benches next to it and write something in the guest book.Continue to the Sibbesse telecommunications tower. Although it is not an observation tower, the tower was only 3 kilometers away from me. Exhausting! Shortly before the tower, however, it is slanted. And there were fallen trees again. But I did it. You cannot visit the tower, but you can get a very good view of the area. From here I drove to Friedrich-Kabus-Turm via Griesberg. I reached the square shortly after sunset. The tower is a bit hidden in the forest and is high. I could see a lot from above.A few kilometers from there is the Mayor Adolf Stoffregen Tower. I hit the gas, but it was dark when I was there. The tower didn't convince me because from above you can almost only see trees (not in all directions). The route is also exhausting.Next comes the "Yellow Tower" public observatory in Hildesheim. The square opens at 7:30 p.m. Since I had a lot of time, I was able to relax a bit. I was there around 8 p.m. and I was the only visitor. The organizer brought me to the dome and told me a lot about the square and the events. From above I could see the whole city and take some pictures. Well worth visiting. It rained again, but all I had to do was visit the nearby Bismarck Tower. The place is currently closed to visitors for repairs, but you can take good pictures from outside. When I was done with the pictures, I drove on to Hanover and the trip ended at around 12 o'clock in the evening. Tiring, but very nice, even if I visited some places at night.I have described the tour in more detail on my website.More about the tour: destination-valhalla.com/der-turmjagd-teil-3-nach-hildesheim

Today comes the second tour of the series. This time I visit three lookout towers - Cölleturm, Lönsturm and Ithturm.First I went to Eime. From there on the Külfberg. The route to Cölleturm was very strenuous. There were also some fallen trees. That's why I had to push my bike up here and there. You can enjoy the great view from the tower and then take a break at the rest area next to it.This is followed by a downhill stretch (the brakes were at the limit) and on to Marienhagen and Thüster Berg. There were a lot of leaves in the forest and driving was not that easy, but nice.I reached the Lönsturm in the late afternoon. Fear of heights + super great view go well with each other. Pictures were taken and I took a good break at a garden bench in front of the tower. Then continue to Ithturm via the witch's kitchen. I think the environment here is very beautiful. Since it was late in the afternoon, I had to accelerate. When I reached Lauenstein, it was almost dusk. The path was not passable in the forest. That's why I had to push a lot and carry my bike over fallen trees again. It was dark when I reached the Ith Tower. Still, it was very nice because from above I could see the lights of all the small towns and villages. Then on to Hanover via Springe. Rain has arrived and it has gotten colder, but I was well equipped and by 12 o'clock at night I was home.Great experience and more tours of the series are coming soon. That was for the second tour in a few words. Others will come soon.More about the tour: destination-valhalla.com/der-turmjagd-teil-2-coelleturm-loensturm-ithturm

By chance we went for a walk today in the direction of Waldberg near Empelde.I like the place, although you can't always go in there. The view of the whole city from above is so beautiful. Sunrise and sunset can be photographed very well. You can also take part in some events. With the good weather we weren't alone there. One group enjoyed the outdoors too. It's a bit windy at the top, but very nice. We did a short lap and then we went home.I have visited the mountain several times. This time I noticed that some places have been renovated and improved.More about my activities: destination-valhalla.comOn Facebook: web.facebook.com/Destination-Valhalla-1631460020513428

The first tour in the series comes out today.
A total of more than 50 observation towers in Lower Saxony, which are no more than 100 km away from Hanover.
I found the Bruchgraben tower by chance on googlemaps. I have never been there. That's why I decided to visit this place first in this series. From Hanover I drove to Sehnde on the Mittelland Canal and from there in the direction of Algermissen. The tower is not that far away. I think the place is beautiful and you can take a good break there and take photos. It also started to rain lightly, but I didn't give up. I then drove to the Siegfried potash plant and from there, next to the Koldinger Lakes, back to Hanover. I also liked the lakes. If you are interested in bird photography, you can take good pictures there. That was for the first tour with a few words. At the weekend the weather was great and I couldn't miss it. Take a stroll into town and pick up some delicious beer (in this case, Grolsch). But after my vacation in the Netherlands, I really like the beer.At the very end of our walk we saw a little rabbit. It was in the yard, but you could touch it. Shortly afterwards another one came.It was a good day outside. Hopefully the weather will stay this good for a while.More about my activities: destination-valhalla.comOn Facebook: web.facebook.com/Destination-Valhalla-1631460020513428

Today there is a lap around Benthnerberg. A very spontaneous decision.
We wanted to go for a walk in the beginning because the weather is not that good, but we decided to go for the bikes.
We took something to eat and we were on our way. In Velber we visited the KulTumr again because we thought there would be a new exhibition this week. But that was not the case. We got it wrong. Last week's exhibition will remain until next weekend.Since we have already seen the paintings, we drove on after a short conversation with the artist.
There are many places on the route with a good view, where you can take a good break.
Fortunately, it didn't rain this time and we were able to walk around in peace. The route is quite suitable for a Sunday.More about my activities: destination-valhalla.comOn Facebook: web.facebook.com/Destination-Valhalla-1631460020513428
