Adjacent to the old Abbey of St. Peter and Paul and overlooking the Gothic cloister, the Romanesque chapel is the only vestige of the Romanesque abbey, probably dating from the second third of the 11th century.

The Romanesque chapel is located in front of the east wing of the cloister. It dates from around 1060 and was probably originally the chapter house of the Romanesque complex.
