Probably used as a meeting place or a place for ceremonies, the bank is a fascinating example of the ancient cultures that lived in this region. The Stone Bank walk starts near St Fachtna's Holy Well and passes through the beautiful Burren countryside. Along the way you will see a variety of geological formations and plant species that only grow in this unique environment.Once you reach the Stone Bank, you will be overwhelmed by the impressive size and beauty of the place. The bench is constructed of solid limestone and has a rounded shape suggesting it was used for ceremonies or gatherings. The bench also offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside including St Fachtna's Holy Well and the stunning Burren mountain range. If you're lucky, you may also spot wildlife such as foxes, hares and badgers that are native to the region.
