Coccau is a fraction of the municipality of Tarvisio in the Italian Val Canale. The town is divided into two parts: Coccau di Sotto (Friulian: Cocau di sot, Untergoggau) and Coccau di Sopra (Friulian: Cocau di sore, Obergoggau) and is located near the Austrian border. The name of the town comes from the Slovenian kokava, meaning stony gorge.
