The dam also receives water from the Soor (Helle basin, Upper Vesdre) via the Soor Tunnel, dug between 1950 and 1953. This thus makes it possible to add to the 34.3 km2 of the watershed of the Gileppe the 20.9 km2 of that of the Soor. A small gravity-type dam can thus divert part of the course of the river to feed the lake through a tunnel dug under the ridge separating the two basins. The tunnel itself is about 2.5 kilometers long and 2.30 meters in diameter, leading to the lake at a place called Trou Malbrouck.
