Former baroque tea house, built around 1730 by order of Prince Bishop Johann Theodor, probably based on plans by Francois de Cuvilliés. From 1816 it was redesigned as a "billiard pavilion" by order of the Duke of Leutenberg. 1950 to 1975 used as a protestant church, 1981/82 renovated and with a basement. Art gallery since 1982.

The pavilion in the castle park was built as a baroque tea house around 1730 on behalf of the Prince-Bishop Johann Theodor, probably based on plans by François de Cuvilliés. In 1816, the Duke of Leuchtenberg had it converted into a billiards pavilion in the classicist style. The Protestant church used the building from 1950 to 1975. After extensive renovation work, the gallery moved into the palace pavilion in 1982.

Since then it has been a popular meeting place for artists and art lovers. The gallery in the castle pavilion offers several sales exhibitions with contemporary art from southern Germany every year.

Then as now, the interior inscription “Beatus ille, qui prokul negotiis” adorns the small pavilion. The motto comes from Horace, one of the most important Roman poets of the Augustan period; It translates as “Happy is he who is far from business”.
