Leugensteine are Roman milestones. One league corresponds to 2.2 kilometers, and this is how distance was once measured in Celtic areas. The distance to the next main town was also carved on the stone. On the Jupiterweg you pass a faithful replica of the stone.

In certain formerly Celtic areas of the Gallic and Germanic provinces, calculations were sometimes not made in miles, but in leagues, which correspond to 1.5 MP, i.e. about 2.22 km. Therefore one speaks here of Leugensteine. They came up from the time of Trajan and became widespread in these regions from Septimius Severus. (Wiki)
