Strzecha Akademicka

110 beds are distributed in the house, here even a single or double room costs not more than ten euros. The Hampelbaude - named after its first host, a German called Hempel or Hampel - is considered the oldest refuge in the Giant Mountains. Many illustrious guests have stayed here. Even Goethe is said to have slept on hay in the Hampelbaude before he climbed the Koppe at dawn on the 23rd of September 1790, accompanied by his servant, to experience the sunrise.

Old but well-preserved mountain hut, some walls are painted. Old wooden tables and chairs, old wooden floor. Nice view. Simply furnished.

Behind the house, the path continues to the lake

The Hampelbaude is not so nice and the food is not as tasty as in the pond. The pond construction stands out with the beautiful location probably all the buildings in Poland.

Perfect place for a rest with beer and sausage.
