This trail is a portion of the proposed European Continental Divide Trail (ECDT, Europäischer Wasserscheideweg) along the North Sea - Baltic Sea Continental Divide (Wasserscheide). To the west of the Ridgeline of the Riesengebirge, water drains to the North Sea. To the east, water drains to the Baltic Sea. To the northwest, the route continues along the Czech-Polish friendship trail towards Sloneczik. Towards the southeast, the route continues over Sniezka.
