Slightly off the main trail you'll find the Chanctonbury Ring Trig Pillar. On a clear day you'll see over to the Isle of Wight from here, plus expansive views to the north. The trig pillar sits to the west of the highest point of Chanctonbury Ring.

This is a trig point near Chanctonbury Ring, which is a prehistoric hill fort atop Chanctonbury Hill on the South Downs, on the border of the civil parishes of Washington and Wiston in the English county of West Sussex.
