Old movies are often shot here. This is a huge old facility. There is a good view from the museum park.
This is where the high-quality feed phosphate was produced and marketed throughout Europe under the RÜKANA name. In 1988 the production output was 180000 t. Production continued until 1999 with only one furnace and a drastically reduced workforce. The "investors", who were unfortunately led by other interests, unerringly steered Rüdersdorferfutterphosphat GmbH into insolvency. After the insolvency estate was cannibalized, the adventurous ruin has served as a filming location for various war films and action productions since 2000. Of particular note were: "Enemy at the Gates" (Stalingrad film) and "The Monuments Men". "Rammstein" staged their moon landing here and the "specialists" of the "GSG9" from SAT 1 let off steam in the old walls.
