First of all, there is a train station here. I didn't find the train station (at least in 2019) particularly suitable for cyclists. This is the only train station where we had to carry our bikes up a flight of stairs. Hopefully this has changed by now.

A mutual agreement was reached with the Prussian Ministry of Railways in 1894. After that, the small Rheinbahnhof in Eisenbahnstraße and the Moselle station were abandoned. Between 1899 and 1902, a magnificent main station was built in the new southern suburb in the area of the Moselle station based on design sketches by the government master builder Karl Biecker, which the agricultural inspector Fritz Klingholz revised. The Centralbahnhof, as it was officially called at the time, was inaugurated on May 1, 1902. The city was divided in two by raising the railway line through the city center to the Moselle.
