The Watermill in Reppel (Bocholt) is located on the cycle route network and equestrian and driving route network. Today it is a equestrian café, mentioned on the Visit Limburg website: visitlimburg.be/nl/wat-te-doen/de-watermolen

"The water mill of Reppel is located on the Aa stream. It was first mentioned in a deed from 856. This would make it the oldest water mill in Belgium. There used to be three water mills here: a grain mill, an oil mill and a bark mill, where mainly oak bark was ground for the tanneries. The oil mill was demolished in 1914, the bark mill in 1923. Only the grain mill has been preserved. Source: goolderheide.be/milieu/bezienswaarden/de_watermolen_van_reppel_

The oil mill was demolished in 1914, the bark mill in 1923. Only the grain mill has been preserved. Until 1975, there was still grinding for the customers of the contract mill.

Outside on the waterfront we find the huge steel undershot wheel with 8 double spokes and 40 blades. The diameter of the wheel is 6 meters. The water wheel turns in the grinding lock. The former two discharge locks have been changed into a wide discharge lock because of the driftwood.
