Boardwalk at the Abeek

Where the first parts of the boardwalk from Reppel (Bocholt) take you through swamp forests so that you get here, this boardwalk should guide you through the wet hay meadows. And they are also quite wet in some places during very dry periods. The Abeek runs right through the area and without the boardwalk you would not be able to cross it. Be sure to stop at the part where the boardwalk becomes a bridge in this season: it is a real dragonfly hotspot. The flora is rich and diverse. And if you look closely (or come during a dry spell) you will also see beaver tracks on the stream. Please note: before the start of the boardwalk, part of the path can be swampy, as some planks that were still there clearly show. So in wetter weather you should not count entirely on the boardwalks, but that is actually always and everywhere the case.

The boardwalk at the Abeek in Bocholt takes you through a beautiful marsh landscape full of reeds, water lilies and lush bankside plants.
