In the 12th century, settlers from the Franconian-Thuringian region founded the Waldhufendorf Arnsdorf. The settlement area on both sides of the village stream was divided between the Tanneberg and the swampy lowlands of the Schwarzen Röder. The center of the settlement was the hereditary court, the church and later the school. With the creation of tax lists by the Meissnian Margrave Friedrich III, the Strict (1332 to 1381), “Arnoldistorf” (Arnsdorf), like many surrounding places, was mentioned for the first time in 1349/51.
