Nice little heap behind the Marina Gelsenkirchen (Stölting Harbor)!
I presume that they were attached to the old one by overburden from the new residential area
    Port Graf Bismarck was created!
There are a few small ponds here and from the top of the heap you have
a great view ! You can see many colliery towers from up there!
Since the heap is still fenced off and not accessible, I've never been there
there and of course I didn't take any photos there. . .

Under the title "Measures to preserve and promote biodiversity in Gelsenkirchen", RAG MI, in coordination with the city of Gelsenkirchen and involving all decision-makers, carried out a remediation of contaminated sites on the 14-hectare area of the former coal storage facility, developed a recultivation plan for the area, and after its implementation now make a valuable contribution to securing and increasing biodiversity in Gelsenkirchen.

During the five-year construction period, the natterjack toad population at the site was protected by appropriate measures. In addition, there were several clutches of little ringed plovers and lapwings during construction, which were also protected. Grass snakes and a red kite were recently sighted in the vicinity of the landscape structure.

In the long term, this will make a significant contribution to the protection and development of planning-relevant animals in Gelsenkirchen, without restricting people's leisure and nature experiences. (Source: City of Gelsenkirchen, Environment Department)

From the embankment, under which the contaminated sites lie surrounded by plastic sheeting, there is a wide all-round view. A number of ponds have been created on the earth structure.
