I did my bike tour today on foot! Visited the beautiful Ümminger See in Bochum! This is fed by the Harpener Bach! Where the Harpen Bach flows out of the lake, it flows together with the Langendreerbach into the Oelbach! This in turn feeds a few more ponds in its course and then flows into Lake Kemnader! Wow, what am I for a smart guy! When I was at the lake, I didn't know that either! But I was curious because I saw the inflow and outflow and then took a closer look at the map!

I took advantage of the weather again and cycled on the Rhine-Herne Canal! Who knows how often that will be possible this year! I'm a wimp and I'm getting too cold! Maybe I should get some heated gloves, let's see. . .

The Schlägel & Eisen 3/4/7 colliery also looks great today! A beautiful park with 2 winding towers and other coal mine relics to marvel at! Of course, some companies have settled here as well, as on other former mine systems! The "Schwarzkaue" is today a multifunctional event location for concerts, theater, family celebrations, conferences and seminars! There is also the "Kraftkaue" for physiotherapy, fitness and athletics - probably in the former "Weißkaue"!

Because the weather was good today, I had to get on my bike and go out into the big wide world again! But since it is getting dark so early and quite cool in the evening, and despite my thirst for adventure, I didn't feel like experimenting, I did my standard lap again! Heiner's disappointed me! Large poster with the inscription "We open for you in November" and then everything closed! No shandy & no currywurst either! Nothing was going on at the Erzbahnbude either! At 6:40 p.m. I was all alone! I wonder why ? ? ? It was positive to see that the RS1 has been built a little further!

Today again took advantage of the good weather and did a little lap! Have seen a riding stables from the Emscher cycle path a couple of times, but have never come back! But was curious and this time took a break there! Gut Steinhausen is a riding stables with a restaurant and a beer garden with a grill! Everyone is welcome here, whether hikers, riders, motorcyclists or cyclists! E-bikers can also recharge their batteries here! Outside there is a nice, rustic ambience with a sandy floor and the service is very friendly! The farm is right next to the Emscher cycle path, not far from the Rhine-Herne Canal! I would love to go there again! Unfortunately closed for the time being due to Corona. . .

The only thing worth seeing at the old Carolinenglück 2/3 colliery is the winding tower of shaft 3! The site is now an industrial park and the RAG still has the dewatering there! Oh yes, for lovers of old Opel there is still the Opel barn with new and used spare parts! All that remains of the Rheinelbe 5 colliery is a manhole cover as a manhole cover on a parking lot in a residential area!

During the first KLT tour I probably overlooked a lot of what I later saw on the map and under the Komoot highlights! So that I don't get "nags" from Werner / Dbg again - laugh - and because the pizza "on the city limits" was so delicious, this time I completely cycled the König-Ludwig-Trasse!

Treadled a great tour today! From Gelsenkirchen to Wanne, then on the Rhine-Herne Canal and on to the König-Ludwig-Trasse! Then I drove the way back on the ore railway line! I made a stop at the restaurant "At the city limits"! Ideal for cyclists who ride along the canal! At the little booth outside there is french fries, currywurst, pizza and more! The booth belongs to the restaurant opposite and you can take a break wherever you want! No matter whether at the Büdchen, at the beer garden or on the "sandy beach"!

Today I did my standard lap again! Off to the ore railway line, which is only one street away from me, and then along the Rhine-Herne Canal! There is now a bike service station at the Erzbahnbude, unfortunately without tools! Has someone already looted who still needed something for his cellar! Well, for emergencies there are still tools at Holger's shop!
