The tradition of manufacturing drawing tools has existed in Wilhelmsdorf for 100 years. This prompted the municipality and the local history association to set up a small special museum on the upper floor of the town hall, which opened in 1992 and not only presents numerous circles with different functions from the period from 1800 to the present, but also their production from the raw material to the end product.

While a compass smithy with a forge and bellows points to the manual production of the compass, as was still common in the 19th century, devices, photos and additional texts document the various steps of industrial production from metalworking to adjustment. The production of the cases is also conveyed to the visitor in all steps. In a separate room, the history of the village is explained with the help of photographs, documents and texts. It was founded in 1686 by Huguenots who had fled France and was commercial and industrial from the start.
