Every year on Shrove Sunday: Dinner at my mom's, i.e., at my place 🍽🍷😋😁😉👍 and a bit of carnival parade fun. Helau! 🪅🎉



A cherished ritual 😁👍.



This year was an anniversary year, the

55th time the parade wound its way through the streets of Emskirchen. Many people lined the streets to watch the colorful

Not much yet, the trails were very bumpy and icy, not really my thing, but there was a glimmer of hope: a tractor track on a farm road 🚜😁. Off I went for a short hike 🥾.



I started in Dachsbach, first to the church (unfortunately closed) and the moated castle ⛪️🏰📷. Then I followed the Aisch River

Winter fun for children and adults alike 😉😁😂.



After it snowed all day yesterday, there was a proper blanket of snow in front of the cabin today, the likes of which haven't been seen in ages ❄️👍🥰.



I had to really battle my way through the snow to feed the goats 🐦🐿 in the garden 😉.



The sun 🌞 has

Under a bright blue sky 🌞 and an icy east wind that brought tears to my eyes despite my glasses 😰, I hiked from the Zenngrund valley to the Fembach valley ↗️🥾↘️♒️.



After recording the hike, I forgot to press start 😇, so it ended up being a lucky number 😉😂.



I started at the Carlo ice cream parlor

A beautiful little snowshoe hike near Emskirchen in dreamy winter weather ❄️🥰

In picture-perfect weather 🌞💙 and wintry temperatures 🥶, I set off, well bundled up 🧣🧤🧥, in the north of Emskirchen. My hike led me through a wonderfully snowy, gently rolling landscape. Past Prackenhof and the Weiherm

When there's a bit of snow in my area, I immediately head out and trudge through it ❄️🥾😁 before it melts again 😥.



Starting from the Emskirchen village pond, I hiked through a beautiful, snow-covered landscape to Plankstatt. The wind was really whipping across the open terrain up on the hilltop 🌬.

A beautiful, peaceful little hike near Sintmann to ring in the New Year ↔️🥾.



In perfect winter hiking weather 🌤🌞❄️👍, we set off from Sintmann along the Seebach chain of ponds on lightly snow-covered paths until just before Sintmannsbuch 🏘.



From there, we took a side road over a small hill to the next

...after two days of feasting, I absolutely need some exercise today 🥾😉.



With this perfect hiking weather 🌞💙, I chose the Mohrhof nature reserve this morning – no shady paths, just sunshine 🌞😎👍. I followed familiar trails through a beautiful pond landscape, a breeding ground for many bird species

Under a radiant sun and a crystal-clear blue sky 🌞💙, we started at the Würzburg Gate (Gallows Gate) and followed the very well-preserved city wall of Rothenburg ob der Tauber down to the Klingentor Tower and Klingentor Bastion 😍. At the next opportunity, we crossed to the other side of the city wall

First, there was coffee and cake ☕️🎂 and a little Prosecco to toast the birthday person 🥂🗣.



For the birthday meal with a small group, we went to Namaste 🇮🇳, after a quick visit to the Erlangen Forest Christmas Market at Schlossplatz 🎄✨️🍷😋.



The food at the Indian restaurant was, as always, delicious
