The Eifgenbach rises on Rattenberg in Wermelskirchen on the city boundary to Remscheid, south includes the Wermelskirchener main town and flows through a natural valley in a southwestern direction. In the lower reaches, it forms the border with Burscheid. Within sight of the Altenberg Cathedral in Odenthal the Eifgenbach flows into the Dhünn.
