Cycling

The Schwarzbach is the central watercourse of the Mönchbruch nature reserve, but it leaves it after a rather short stretch. Its origin in the protected area follows a striking hydrological principle: the stream does not yet exist under this name for the first few kilometers in the Mönchbruch. Instead, two independent bodies of water – the Gundbach coming from the direction of Walldorf and the Gerätsbach (also written Geräthsbach) flowing from Mörfelden – flow towards each other in the middle of the nature reserve.
