The monastery originated from the founding of the overcrowded Maria Hilf monastery in Bonn.
The monastery lived on what it had earned itself. They opened a wafer bakery, which until now has been the main source of income for the monastery. They also grow fruits and vegetables. and sell to lovers of organic products. During the war, the nuns helped with the care of the injured soldiers.
There are currently 11 nuns living in the monastery.
