Beautiful old half-timbered houses with thatched roofs can be admired here in the open-air museum.

The farm complex in Bad Zwischenahn consists of old, thatched houses Life as it was 300 years ago... Hard to imagine? The open-air museum in the spa park provides information about it. The open-air museum was built in 1909/1910 from two former half-timbered houses. The association for local heritage conservation wants to show people how people lived 300 years ago. The 17 houses and outbuildings are perfectly integrated into the spa park, the centerpiece is the farmhouse with an open fireplace. Behind every building there is a story and, above all, an important use for people 300 years ago. The rooms are still in use today. The Spieker restaurant serves traditional, regional and Ammerland specialties.
In the old farmhouse, ham is still smoked as in the old days, but the fireplace is turned off for tours.
