A Natura 2000 project to implement the Hessian biodiversity strategy. Here, the former limestone quarry Galgenberg, above Solz, was designated as an FFH protection area.
Various natural areas for insects and plants were created in the former limestone quarry, as well as a biotope in the quarry basin. The insemination is done by goats, which are used there temporarily.
An information board at the entrance to the limestone quarry clearly explains the project.
