Here, on the watershed "Bei den drei Linden" (At the Three Linden Trees), the old Sontraer Landstraße and the eastern Franzosenstraße (French Road) once intersected. The Sontraer Landstraße later became the B 27. To straighten it, the Cornberger Höhe (Highway) was cut open, the "Drei Linden" (Three Linden) was felled, and the road was lowered. Thus, the intersection, which had been important since the Middle Ages, disappeared. Later, three new linden trees were planted slightly off the cutting. From here, the X9 (Wartburg Trail) follows the old Franzosenstraße in a northwesterly direction to the "Schwarzer Stock" (Black Stock).
