The Midlicher Mühle looks back on more than 500 years of history. Since the 1950s it has been leased by the parish and used as a youth hostel. The youth hostel ended in 2021 and the owners are currently planning a new use.

"The Midlicher mill is located in the "Herrlichkeit Lembeck", on the Beck, in the meadow valley, in which the Midlicher stream is embedded: a scenic gem.

The valley offers a clear view to the north of the hills of the "Hohen Mark", which offer unimagined opportunities for excursions and hikes. The landscape of the "Herrlichkeit Lembeck" offers beauties in a rarely great variety.

The mill is owned by Count Ferdinand Merveldt, who lives in Lembeck Castle. The exact time of the mill's construction can no longer be proven, but a stone attached to the east side of the house testifies that the mill must have existed as early as 1557, because it says: "In 1557 a bushel of rye cost one gold guilder"... "
