Fontaine du Perron, Genève
Turning your back on the Saint-Pierre Cathedral, head towards Calle Puits St-Pierre. At the intersection of the streets Perron, Calvin and Puits St-Pierre, we can admire a fountain built in principle in 1854.
On this postcard, the drawing replaces the photo. At the time, it was easier to print it because the postmark indicates October 12, 1899, a document sent from the post office of La Servette to Badgastein.
In the Journal de Genève of August 27, 1829, we read: "Preparations begin for the construction of a fountain on the Perron, under the terrace of the Puits-St-Pierre." *
Since then, the shape of the fountain has changed, as has the floor of the Rue du Perron.
