"... "The Mutzbach was already developed for mill use around 1800. The [...] mills (Walk and Diepeschrath mills) are already shown on the map of the Rhineland by Tranchot and v. Müffling. To operate the mills, the water was moved to the edge of the valley in order to use the greater gradient. [...] The course of the water itself has hardly changed in terms of location between 1800 and today. The development for mill operation probably took place earlier." (Koenzen 2003) ..."
