Bell tower with the oldest bell from 1745
Zinzendorf bought the first bell in 1745 for 15 thalers for the community center. It was cast by Körner in Sorau and bore the inscription "Jesus' wounds, blood, death and pain remain the text in the cross community" and "Herrnhut should not stand any longer than the works of his hand go unhindered inside and love is the bond". The bell survived both world wars and was recovered from the Hamburg bell cemetery. It now hangs in a bell tower southwest of the church hall, on a remaining wall of the old community center.
