Doctor Bridge over the river Esk is a grade 2 listed building. It's a probable 17th century packhorse bridge which was widened in 1734 for surgeon Edward Tyson. This is probably why it's called Doctor Bridge.
The bridge gives access from the Woolpack Inn to the south of the river, the river path and the fells.
