The cargo and passenger steamer S/S AGDA was built in 1896 and in 1918 the ship was taken over by Horsens Dampskibsselskab. After that, AGDA was used for scheduled services with call points in Alrø, Hjarnø, Snaptun and Endelave.

On Saturday 15 January 1944 at 18.45, AGDA was hit by a mine northwest of Endelave. All 14 on board died in the accident.

Just before arriving at Endelave there was a violent explosion and the sea was lit up with some powerful torches. Then another explosion sounded, after which the ship's lantern was extinguished. The explosions were so strong that they could be heard as far away as Hjarnø, from where several boats immediately went to help. Several boats also sailed from Endelave, and wreckage of the ship was soon found, but no survivors.
