The isolated island boasts beautiful, untouched nature, home to deer, mouflon, sea eagles, and many other animals and birds.
Today, Æbelø is a nature reserve, allowing nature to take care of itself, becoming a primeval forest. Remember to bring binoculars!
Æbelø is also a fantastic fishing spot.Æbelø used to be forested and there was also farming. Just 50 years ago, more than 40 people lived here, and you can still see the main house, Æbeløgård, and the lighthouse, as well as the ruins of the other houses. There are fantastic views along the coast. If you walk along the coast on Æbelø, you can see that the cliffs and the trees are sliding down into the sea. It is the plastic Æbelø clay that causes the soil layers to slide apart.visitnordfyn.de/nordfyn/aktivitaeten/natur/aebelo-erleben
