The Melchow Church was originally a field stone barn. It was rebuilt and has served as a place of worship since 1934. The old village church and the original village center were probably destroyed during the Hussite campaign in 1432. The bell was supposed to be saved back then, but - according to legend - got lost in the moor. Melchow later got a new town center and even later today's church. But at that time there was not enough money for the tower and bell. The bell tower is made of Corten steel and was inaugurated in January 2014.
