The Church of God's Peace is a listed Protestant sacred building.
When an architectural competition was announced for the church building project, the choice fell on the architectural office Hübotter-Lebeboer-Busch in Hanover. The architects specialized in the construction of churches and sacred buildings. Her design for Heidkamp followed the example of a church inaugurated in 1959 on the island of Heligoland.
In November 1961, Pastor Hochstetter released the draft plan for implementation. The first groundbreaking took place on September 9, 1962 and the laying of the foundation stone on May 5, 1963.
