It is a promontory visible from a long distance as it served as a fortified settlement since the dawn of time.
Excavations directed by the University of Jaén are recently being carried out where they hope to find important remains, given the privileged situation that this elevation has had throughout history.
It does not have (as far as I know) an appropriate track to climb to the top, although I trust that within a short time, the City Council or the Provincial Council will consider enhancing this jewel inexorably linked to the city of Martos, creating a access road with a viewpoint according to the importance of the rock.

Martos is a beautiful town in the province of Jaén. Situated on a hilltop, the town offers breathtaking views of the surrounding olive groves and the Sierra Morena. With a rich history dating back to Roman times, Martos is known for its historical landmarks such as the Castle of la Villa and the Church of San Juan Bautista. The central square, Plaza de la Constitución, is a lively place where locals gather for markets and events. The town has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and is a great place to experience authentic Andalusian culture.

Well suited as a stopover - depending on how you plan the Via Verde.
