Freie Fachoberschule Fürstenwalde (Rahn School), Fürstenwalde was supplied with electricity from 1908. Also on Goetheplatz, the Kunz brothers founded the largest German iron planing factory in 1910, which is no longer preserved today. The gasworks, which Theodor Fontane already mentioned in his "Wandering through the Mark Brandenburg-Spreeland", can also no longer be seen. Dismantled in GDR times, living space with a view of the Spree was created after reunification.
