Originally natural sites were rare and tied to ore deposits near the surface. They were largely destroyed centuries ago by the mining of these ore deposits. Secondary, anthropogenic occurrences are the result of ore mining and the processing of ores containing heavy metals. Over the centuries the number of pings, Pochsandlager, smelting sites, mine heaps and slag heaps, and thus the number of secondary sites, grew steadily. In the past decades and still today, they have been and are partially built over (building land, dams), reprocessed for the extraction of metals, reforested or destroyed as part of the remediation of contaminated sites. In the Oker river valley, the heavy metal lawns have been and are being severely decimated by extensive gravel mining.

The heavy metal Magerrasen here in the Okeraue grows on ores, which were mined by the mining on Rammelsberg in Goslar. A similar vegetation with the small carnation is only available in the Erzgebirge.
She has a special name, I just forgot it. I'll check back later!
It's called Galmei-camel. And there's the Galmei spring gnome here.
