The church was founded by the German Order of Knights, the first written mention dates back to 1297. In 1320 it was mentioned in the oldest parish register of the Regensburg diocese. It was brought into today's baroque form between 1705 and 1709. After the fire in 1810 the church was extended, the tower was only completed in 1901. The interior design dates from the 19th century. The church is still owned by the Roman Catholic Church. Church services are held here regularly.
