A partially quite beautiful cycle path along the long sea bays of the Great Glen brought me to Fort William.
There were 2 ferry crossings along the way.
I had to wait a good 2 hours for the last ferry... since Brexit, no more funding is flowing there.
Now I have pitched my tent below the highest mountain

With a short ferry ride, I reached the island of Mull. Wonderful coastal roads, above them a fantastic play of clouds and lots of nature against the mountain backdrop. Ideal for a short round without luggage for the planned rest day 😉. The small taste of Tobermory Malt gave me wings. What a smell...

It had everything today - holes, bays, castles, stones, steep climbs and a broken chain... An evening nightcap with my favorite malt tastes particularly good 😋🥃.

Before the rain shower, I managed to pack away the tent. So I was in good time for the ferry to the Kintyre peninsula. Here, a warming ascent put me in shape. A group of gravel bikers without luggage spurred me on to my best performance, to be the first in Tarbet. I couldn't have managed any further

So with luggage almost around the island is an absolute challenge 🚵♂️😅. In addition, a lot of sun at almost 18 degrees. The "Scots Rain" let me down today. Instead, there are now many postcard motifs... 😉

On the quite well-developed railway cycle path and also partly on the EV1, we went against the wind towards the west. Arriving at the coast, a one-hour ferry ride to the island of Arran followed. Here I am now at a natural campsite. Cold water, a toilet, and many midges are shared with some hikers. Good

The much-praised Glasgow was on the agenda today. Well... construction sites and miserable corners galore...
With some indoor visits to museums and pubs, I got through the 17-degree, quite humid and warm day relatively dry. Simply wonderful in the fresh air 😉.

Getting up early helped me pack the tent dry. The wind also blew quite favorably, so I arrived in Glasgow very early. Then I dawdled a bit and got caught in a longer heavy rain. After so much external moisture, a pub visit was the only right course of action 🍺.

The tent dried by the wind by 10:00 AM, so we set off as planned at 11:00 AM. At Blacksmith in Gretna, there was therefore no time for a wedding. Along the River Annan and River Evan, the route led mostly on the verge of the almost disused main road, steadily upwards. Not far away, however, the noise

After some tough climbs along Hadrian's Wall, there was a longer stop in Carlisle. After the obligatory tour of the town, I managed to set up the tent again before the rain. The ride back from the subsequent pub visit was all the wetter for it...
Now let's hope the "fellow campers" 🦟 don't act too stupid.

Hardly arrived in Northern England, I cycled west today on Cycleway 72 with a partial tailwind. The route passes many sites from the Roman era up to Carlisle. The midpoint of Great Britain is also on the way. Some steep climbs ensured a proper circulation. Now I have pitched my tent next to the Hadrians

A good effort against the wind brought me to Dampferle. No question, a bus stop helped me to survive the mandatory shower. Now there's an aperitif🍺 in the Skybar to get my stomach sea-ready. Ahoy ship 🏴☠️!

I used the day to make some memories of my summer tour through NL last year. Holland compact, pancakes, kibbeling, apple pie and Heineken included. Back at the tent, there was a small shower and the message from Komoot that I had conquered 2 peaks.
Now I hope for less wind tomorrow, so that I haven't

Against the fresh breeze always westwards in the direction of the lake. I sat out the daily shower in Amsterdam station 💶🍺😅🙈. Now the tent is set up under palm trees and the noodle pot, stretched with herbs🪴, is already steaming. 😶🌫️

A short change of direction to the west, against the weather fronts, has now brought me a little closer to the ferry to the Isle of Skye. Surprisingly, the wind has helped me over many a mountain.
Just in time for setting up my Sweet Home, I got the daily shower. No big deal. Much worse is that there
