The water tower at the edge of town on Bürgermeister-Rühl-Straße was built in 1928 in the Bauhaus style typical of the time.
This, its silhouette, which defines the townscape, and its "scientific significance for architectural history" are the reasons for its classification as a protected cultural monument. The tower was built to increase water pressure with a raised reservoir for the central water supply in Babenhausen. It took half a year to erect the 31-meter-high and 10-meter-wide building 🚴♂️
