Harsdörfer particularly wanted to help women become equal conversation partners. (As early as 1642 he had published small volumes of model women's conversation plays in 8 parts). That seemed ridiculous to many at the time, even though it was far-sighted. But what particularly stimulated the mockery was the title of his instructions, written in figurative language according to the fashion of the time: “Poetic Funnel. To infuse the art of German poetry and rhyme into six hours without the use of the Latin language.” That didn’t mean that Harsdörfer wanted to turn anyone into a poet in a crash course of six hours! He wanted to do his part to make the recognized rules easier for beginners to know.

The founder of the Pegnesian Flower Order, Georg Philipp Harsdörfer, wrote books totaling 20,000 pages over the course of 20 years about everything possible, but especially about language and poetry. In 1648 he published a work about learning the rules that had to be followed when writing poems at the time. The book did not require the reader to have knowledge of the Latin language, so it was also aimed at non-academics and wanted to spread education to wider sections of the population.

From 1634-1670, the poets' grove of the Pegnesian Flower Order was located here, the predecessor meeting place before the Irrhain near Kraftshof was created.
