The third coffee house is now located on Lake Emma. The first house was demolished in 1897, the second destroyed in 1943.

Construction of the new coffee house began in May 1963, and the topping-out ceremony took place in October 1963. At the opening on April 30, 1964, the tenant wrote in an advertisement: “The modern café, right on the lake.” Others see the similarity to an excursion steamer that docked on Lake Emma. It is also called the house on the water or the coffee house that floats in the water, because it is considered a “static miracle” due to the poor subsoil. Inside, it has space for 100 guests, and outside it has around 150 garden seats.

During the construction period, Lake Emma was also cleared of silt. The first rowing boats arrived in 1966. In 1969, the extension on the first floor of the commercial wing was completed with 40 to 50 seats.

The first stage of the Unterweserweg also leads along here.
