The Mikado Bridge over the Schwärze River (so named because of the colored rods extending beyond the bridge railing) was built in 2009 as part of the redesign of the cross-connection between Michaelisstraße, the Sparkassenforum, and the Altstadtcaree. Some of the "Mikado rods" are designed as lighting fixtures.
