    This is the first of a series of sculptures along the River Eden, the collection titled Eden Benchmarks. There are ten in total, from the source here to where it flows into the Solway Firth near Carlisle.

    'Water Cut' by Mary Bourne stands along the Lady Anne Clifford's Way and the space between the two large Salterwath Limestone pillars shows the meandering river, giving the viewer a window down into the river valley below.
