Set off time: - 8:05 AM - 12:00 PM Hike: 10.75 KM BPM 131 Elevation 464 Weather / humidity -6, 88% Average pace 3.1 KM/PH Fastest KM 10:36 Slowest KM 29:57 Overall time 3:30:30 Calories burned 1835 Train time: 6:33 - 8:00 🕗 A very snowy hike, way more than I expected, bogs and the like, the views were stunning as I made my way up Knoutberry Haw, a truly spectacular panoramic view miles and miles of fells and the Lake District in the background, when approaching the summit I didn’t account for how deep the snow and ice truly was, the peat bog although frozen over had me thigh deep in the ice cold water, I took one step and I dipped further in and that was the turning point. it was then that I made the judgment to trudge along back the way I came a very smart judgment call as that was very dangerous, I didn’t know how the conditions were further up and around the loop I determined it would be worse so opted for the better option, and I couldn’t account for getting stuck up there so about a mile out from the summit I turned back around and made the decent back down which was just as treacherous as the snow melted. I then took a break by the Lay-by on the road and took in the beauty that I was surrounded by no souls in sight just bright sunshine and peaks all around me, although I didn’t get to do the whole route I got to take in the most spectacular hike I’ve done this year it’s safe to say the Yorkshire dales is my favourite place to explore!.
