Following the entire test track is a rewarding drive. Historical places give an insight into the Transrapid. Unfortunately, there is no political will to make more of the former route.

The Emsland Transrapid test facility is a test site for the Transrapid magnetic levitation train that has been shut down since 2011 but has been completely preserved to this day. It has a 31.8-kilometer test track in the western part of the Emsland district in Lower Saxony.
