Beautiful stone cross

The approximately 3.50 meter high wayside cross was erected in 1842 and commemorates the Meis couple.
Since then, one has reached the crossroads via several steps. The square around the wayside cross was paved and bordered with stones. A hedge separates the square from its surroundings.

Next to the stone cross is a nice hut for a rest sheltered from the wind.

"The Unterhombach wayside cross is north-west of the village of Unterhombach on a dirt road that leads to Breite. The approximately 3.50 meter high wayside cross was erected in 1842 and commemorates the Meis couple. The inscription reads:"Ora Bronobis Sancti Andoni! Erected by the married couple Gerhardt Meis and Elisabetha Meuthen zu Hombach in 1842, re-erected by the Eck family in 1935".After the cross was erected according to its inscription in 1935, it was restored again and the immediate surroundings redesigned.
