Best Hikes to Ponds in Georgengarten

Tips

  • There is a pond in the western area of the Georgengarten. The curved stone Augustenbrücke, designed by Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves in 1840, crosses the narrowest part of this park pond. It is a popular subject for amateur photographers. In the immediate vicinity is the Leibniz Temple, a monument in honor of the great scholar Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. The rotunda with its 12 Ionic columns stands on a small hill right next to the pond. At the back of the pond is another bridge from Laves. The iron bridge from 1837 is the oldest bridge in Laves.

  • Many beautiful moments. Greylag geese, sea turtles sunbathing and many other animals. Nice places to take a break by the water.
