The Leine- und Ihmeufer is a long, narrow green area, right through the western urban area of Hanover. The park-like riverside green strip, which stretches along both sides of the banks of the Leine and Ihme, is about 5 km long and has a width that varies between 100 and 200 meters. The area is about 0.7 km². The Himepark is an important part of this waterfront green area. The "Leine- und Ihmeufer" does not include all the banks of the Leine, but only the western part of the Leine.
