Probably unique in Europe, there is a care and housing project for seniors and people with disabilities on Heelweg, in which a Dutch and a German sponsor are cooperating across the border: The "CAREAZ-Dr. Jenny and Bültenhaus". The special feature of the building complex: the facilities on both sides of the border are connected by a bridge. The living room of a flat-sharing community and the German-Dutch meeting center "Die Taverne" are located directly above the street with its state border.
